Lumonite 5 year warranty

Lumonite manufactures all of its products from premium, durable, and high-quality components. That’s why Lumonite offers an exceptionally long limited warranty of up to five years on all of its lights. This warranty covers manufacturing defects in the body or electronics (including LEDs) that have occurred within 5 years of normal use. The warranty does not cover wear and tear on plastic, rubber, or glass parts, or on the headband or cables due to misuse, modification, or use in extreme sports or conditions. The warranty period is calculated from the date of purchase.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or normal deterioration of battery capacity with use, but Lumonite offers a one-year (12-month) warranty on batteries and other accessories included with the light against manufacturing defects.

What is a manufacturing defect and what is misuse?

Manufacturing defects are most likely to occur either during the first use or shortly thereafter. If the cause of the defect is unclear, defects that occur within 2 years of purchase are considered manufacturing defects. If it can be determined that the defect is clearly caused by the user, it is not covered by the warranty.

Example of a manufacturing defect: The lamp stops working for no apparent reason, and it will not start working again even after charging or replacing the battery.

Example of misuse: Because the light output of Lumonite lamps is very efficient, the light beam of the lamps can heat up obstacles that touch the lens or are in front of it considerably. If the lamp is accidentally switched on in a pocket, the light energy can, in the worst case, melt the material inside the pocket, which may lead to the polycarbonate lens of the lamp melting and rendering it unusable. Such an incident is considered misuse of the lamp, which is not covered by the warranty.

The user of the product must ensure that the lamp lens is free of dirt and that the lens remains uncovered at all times when the lamp is in use. Lumonite pocket-sized models have a key lock, in addition to which the switch is recessed into the body to prevent accidental switching on. In addition, the most efficient power mode is stored in the lamps' memory for a maximum of 10 minutes after use. After this, the lamp will light up with a lower light output the next time. The user must use the key lock (or turn the end cap 1⁄2 turn counterclockwise) to prevent accidental use and damage.
