Direct and indirect lighting

In short, direct lighting focuses the light directly on the object being illuminated. Kitchen countertops, home office tables and shelves are places where even and bright light is needed. This makes everyday tasks easier and brings a modern look. In indirect lighting, on the other hand, light can be reflected from walls or ceilings onto the object being illuminated, creating a soft and cozy atmosphere. The living room, bedroom and hallway are the most common places where indirect light is desired. LED strips can be installed behind cabinets or moldings, so that the light is reflected where it is needed.

LED strips can be used practically and stylishly in every room of the house. The AGGE range includes dimmable, RGB multi-colour and waterproof options that can be easily controlled with a remote control, wall switch or the Philips Hue app installed on your phone.

Hallway

In the hallway, LED strips can create a homely and comfortable first impression and make everyday life easier. With AGGE RGB and CCT strips, you can adjust the colour and tone of the lighting according to the situation – bright light for the morning rush, soft evening light when returning home. The strips are suitable, for example, around a mirror, along the ceiling or behind a shoe cabinet for indirect light.

Living room

In the living room, LED strips help create versatile lighting solutions. AGGE RGB + CCT strips allow you to change the light color and color temperature according to the situation, such as warm light for relaxation and a brighter shade for reading. The strips can be placed on the edges of the TV stand, behind a bookcase or along the ceiling for indirect lighting. Smart control, such as the Philips Hue app, allows you to easily adjust the lights using your phone or voice commands.

Bedroom

In the bedroom, LED strips provide both practical and atmospheric light. For direct lighting, for example, AGGE 8W/m strips with warm 3000 K light are suitable, which, when installed at the head of the bed or above the desk, provide enough brightness for reading, for example. If more atmospheric lighting is desired, indirect light can be utilized. The LED strip can be installed in the ceiling molding or behind a cabinet, so that the light is softly reflected into the room. A dimmer or wireless remote control allows you to adjust the lighting according to your needs and mood.

Kitchen

In the kitchen, LED strips provide practical additional light for working. Direct lighting for worktops can be achieved by installing, for example, AGGE 10W/m strips under the upper cabinets. This way you get bright and even light for cooking. Indirect lighting can be used on the upper parts of the cabinets, which creates a more spacious and tidy impression for the entire kitchen. Dimmable transformers and wall switches allow you to adjust the lighting from bright working light to soft dining light.

Washroom and shower room

In washrooms and shower rooms, LED strips are required to be moisture-resistant. AGGE IP65-rated LED strips are ideal around mirrors, on the ceiling or on the edges of cabinets. They distribute the light evenly and bring both functionality and atmosphere to the bathroom. A dimmer and moisture-proof switch allow you to adjust the lighting from bright light suitable for morning routines to soothing evening lighting.

Sauna

In a sauna, lighting must withstand both moisture and high temperatures. AGGE IP65-protected LED strips can be installed in accordance with sauna regulations at a maximum height of 1 meter. Based on our experience, AGGE wet room strips can also be installed at the height of the backrest without the lifespan of the strip being reduced. No electrical devices other than the heater's own electrical devices, such as a temperature sensor, may be installed above the heater, and no closer than 0.5 meters. The light from the LED strip installed behind the backrest reflects softly and emphasizes the sauna atmosphere without glare. A dimmer is particularly useful, as it allows the lighting to be adjusted for relaxation or brighter cleaning lighting.

Utility room

In the utility room, lighting is important for practical tasks. Direct lighting can be achieved by installing AGGE 8–10W/m strips above the worktops and washing tower, making it easier to care for and iron the laundry. Indirect lighting can be used behind cabinets or in the ceiling molding, making the space more comfortable. A dimmer allows you to adjust the lighting to be bright for working or softer when you want a calmer atmosphere.

Bathroom

In the bathroom, LED strips make the space both functional and stylish. AGGE IP65-rated strips are well suited for places such as around or behind the mirror and also under the sink, where the light is distributed evenly without glare. Direct lighting helps with everyday routines, while indirect light at the ceiling creates an atmosphere. A dimmable switch or remote control allows you to adjust the lighting as needed, from bright makeup light to soft night light.

Warehouse

In a warehouse, LED strips make the space more functional and safer. Bright AGGE 230V / 1500 lm/m LED strips can be installed on the ceiling or under shelves, making it easy to find all items without shadows. Direct lighting is especially suitable for walkways and shelves, while indirect light at the ceiling border creates an even and pleasant general light.
