Guide how to store flashlights and headlamps

The following maintenance instructions will save you both money and nerves!

Here are some tips to maximize the life of your lamp and batteries and keep your lamp in working condition even during seasonal storage. The instructions can be applied to both flashlights and headlamps.

1. Charge the battery / remove the batteries - this is the most important!!!

• It is a good idea to remove the batteries from a battery-powered lamp when the lamp will not be used for 1-2 months.
• The battery of a rechargeable lamp should be fully charged for long-term storage. Even a high-quality lithium-ion battery cannot withstand being stored empty, but will lose a significant part of its charge capacity. Don't ruin your battery by storing it empty! When used correctly, a high-quality lithium-ion battery can last over 500 charges from empty to full before its current-receiving capacity begins to deteriorate.
• The optimal voltage for storing a lithium-ion battery is 3.7V - but as a rule of thumb, it is better to store the battery fully charged than empty.

2. Lubricate the O-rings or seals

• The rubber O-rings located near the threads of the lamp prevent water and dust from entering the lamp. It is worth lubricating the seals from time to time with, for example, Vaseline, silicone grease or another substance intended for lubricating rubber parts.

3. Clean the lamp body as well

• The lamp body is cleaned with a general-purpose cleaner that removes dirt and grease.
