Caring instructions for flashlights and headlamps

By using and maintaining your LED light correctly, you will save both money and nerves. Here are some good-to-know tips to maximize the life of the light and batteries without compromising safety:

• Make sure to remove the batteries from the light if you know that the light will not be used for a long time. When storing the batteries, it is a good idea to fully charge them. The recommended charge level is 70–90%. The charge level must not drop so low that the cell terminal voltage drops below 2.5 volts for more than three months.
• Do not disassemble the lamp yourself, this will prevent damage to the lamp and void the warranty
• Only use batteries purchased from the VALOSTORE online store or similar batteries with a protective circuit that are known to be safe and reliable. Make sure that the voltage provided by the power supply and the voltage required by the lamp are compatible.
• When installing the power supply, make sure that the battery is installed in the correct direction. Reverse polarization may damage the lamp's control circuit. Note! Not all lamps are installed with the positive (+) pole first!
• If the lamp is equipped with sealing O-rings, replace the O-rings if they are damaged, e.g. due to long use, and lubricate the sealing rings regularly with a chemical intended for rubber care (e.g. silicone grease). This will ensure the longest possible service life of the seals and the watertightness of the lamp.
• Clean the contact surfaces of the lamp regularly, especially if the lamp flashes or does not light up at all

There are several reasons why the lamp may flash or not work, such as:

Cause 1: The battery/rechargeable battery/battery pack does not provide enough power

• Solution 1: Charge the battery/battery pack (Remember to ensure correct polarity when installing (+/-).
• Solution 2: Replace the battery/rechargeable battery/battery pack. Use only high-quality and high-performance batteries.

Cause 2: The battery does not accept a charge

• Solution 1: Try charging from another power source (other 230 V sockets, 12 V sockets, USB power sources, etc.)
• Solution 2: The battery protection circuit may have "locked". Try inserting the battery in the wrong direction in the charger for 2-3 seconds. Then turn the battery in the right direction again. This may "kick-start" the battery.

Cause 3: The wrong or low power mode is selected

• Solution: Read the user manual on how the product works. The power mode is often changed by holding down the power switch or a separate button.

Cause 4: The contact surfaces are dirty/oxidized

• Solution: If the contacts are dirty, clean the contact surfaces with a cotton cloth dampened with an alcohol-based cleaner. For oxidized contacts, scrape off the oxidation and lightly sand with a fine sandpaper. Then clean the contact surfaces with a cotton cloth dampened with an alcohol-based cleaner.

Cause 5: The lamp head, lamp housing, or any of the components are loose

• Solution 1: Lubricate the O-rings and tighten all threads and parts properly.
• Solution 2: Tighten all internal threads. Many lamps (both flashlights and headlamps) have a threaded metal ring in the base with two holes. If it is loose, tighten it (pictured right).

Lithium-ion batteries contain a large amount of energy and can therefore be dangerous if handled carelessly.

A charger specifically designed for charging lithium-ion batteries must be used to charge lithium-ion batteries. Do not use lithium-ion batteries with other brands, types or models of batteries. Do not leave lithium-ion batteries in a charger for more than 24 hours and always charge batteries under supervision.
Used or damaged batteries should be recycled by taking them to a battery collection point, which is typically located at recycling points and in connection with shopping centers.
