Auxiliary light set Tesla Model Y is a Purelux Panther Aero S540 or alternatively Purelux Curve C530 Slim additional light panel assembled around, as the name suggests, an additional light set that fits the Model Y perfectly! This finished package contains an additional light panel from Purelux's flagship collection, whose functionality in Model Y (both technically and visually) we have tested with our own hands at Valostore. In addition to the light, a wiring kit suitable for installation and model-specific fasteners are also included, which allow the panel to be installed neatly and easily in the recess below the vehicle's license plate. The brackets are installed in the bumper at the recess, so the end result is neat and smooth, and the installation looks as if the light had already been in place when it left the factory. It is possible to choose the set with the Panther Aero S540 additional light or alternatively with the Curve C530 Slim additional light. The difference in the lights is mainly the light beam: the Panther's light beam is slightly wider, and the C530's light beam reaches a little further.

The Purelux Panther Aero S540 is a very graceful and modern additional light that blends elegantly into the Model Y's sporty look. The panel illuminates the road ahead far ahead, opening its spotlight brightly also to benches and the edges of the road. The light pattern, which is softly limited in the height direction, is perfectly suited for installation close to the road surface, which makes this light a key choice for the front of the Model Y. The Purelux Curve C530 Slim is also a very graceful additional light with dark optics, which elegantly blends into the look of the Model Y. The light beam of the panel is slightly narrower than in the Panther, and the range has been increased (530 m @ 1 lux). The cone is not point-like, only long-range, but for those who appreciate a harder range, the C530 may be a more meaningful option. The light pattern, which is precisely limited in the height direction, is perfectly suited for installation close to the road surface, which makes this light a key choice for the front of the Model Y. NOTE! The set fits directly on the Tesla Model Y from the 2019 model year onwards. The light and relays are also suitable for the 2017-2018 models, but the OBD adapter is different and must be purchased separately.

Purelux Panther Aero S540

The Purelux Panther Aero S540 represents the most popular size class of additional light panels, stylishly. It is a very slender and aerodynamically designed additional light that, in addition to a modern appearance, combines both a great size-to-power ratio and top features that are as if created for the dark roads of our country. The low-profile Panther Aero S540, finished with dark optics and a frameless lens, is also equipped with e.g. with a two-color parking light, year-round conditions with a durable structure and two different power modes. The light can be selected for use in either the limited power mode approved for road traffic or the Purelux PowerBoost® mode that releases full power, where the lamp offers a measured light output of up to 8151 lumens and a measured range of 479 meters @ 1 lux!

A neutral color temperature of 5000 Kelvin has also been introduced to the light, which significantly improves the driving experience. The neutral color temperature is optimal for road traffic, as it facilitates e.g. observation of terrain shapes and obstacles, and it does not reflect the blinding brightness of nature's white snow cover into the driver's eyes or distort the colors of the target. In addition, the neutral color temperature works better than cool shades in bad weather conditions, and it helps to keep your eyes sharp in the seemingly endless darkness. Thanks to the 5000K color temperature, the beam of the additional light also merges inconspicuously with the Model Y's own LED lights, and together they form a bright and even beam, which gives the driver significantly more reaction time, e.g. in case of forest animals running across the road.

Purelux Curve C530 Slim

The Purelux Road Curve C530 Slim is a graceful additional light panel with a very precise light pattern, which was developed based on the best-selling Purelux Road Curve that won tests. The C530 Slim culminates Curve's many years of development into an all-new, low-slung and slim-frame additional light panel equipped with this season's most sought-after features. The light features a narrow beam optimized for road traffic, a neutral 5000K color temperature, two different power modes, a white and orange parking light, modern stylish dark optics and a frameless lens. Thanks to the two power modes, the panel can be used in either the lower power mode approved for road traffic or the Purelux Powerboost® mode suitable for Off-Road use, which harnesses the full potential of the light by forming a precise combined beam of light that covers more than half a kilometer (523 m @ 1 lux) with a measured light output of 7869 lumens.

The Road Curve has always been known for its tightly defined spotlight in the vertical direction, and this has not been changed in the Slim model either. The lamp's beam cuts out the unnecessary up-down diffuse light, which enables all the light output to be directed both far ahead and wide to the edges of the road, i.e. exactly where it is needed. Thanks to the unique beam, the C530 works excellently on seemingly endless straight roads and also in very bad weather conditions, because, for example, when a snowstorm hits, the panel does not illuminate the white dishcloths falling from the sky, but focuses the light only on the road ahead. The low light beam also allows the light to be installed at practically any height, and unlike many lights with a rounder beam, the C530 also works brilliantly when installed below the shield. Thanks to the 5000K color temperature, the beam of the additional light also merges inconspicuously with the Model Y's own LED lights, and together they form a bright and even beam, which gives the driver significantly more reaction time, e.g. in case of forest animals running across the road.

Installation guide

Locate the fuse box in the wiring harness and pull out the fuse underneath. Also remove the 4-pole relay attached to the relay base. If you want the parking light in the additional light to work, then the wiring harness must be modified a little: open the insulating sleeve of the relay base, push the blue wire in the relay base out of its place and move it to the place in the middle of the relay base. You don't have to do the part in bold text if you don't want the auxiliary light parking light to work. Locate the grounding point and power outlet on the car, and fit the power and ground wires of the wiring harness to these points. After that, disconnect the main power from the car and turn off Sentry Mode. Wait until you hear the relay "click" to indicate power off (this can take up to 15 min).

In the rear footwell of the car, remove the protective cover of the OBD port. Behind the cover, a bundle of wires is exposed, with a connector in between. Disconnect this connector and place the OBD adapter between the connectors. Insert the XBB Dongle into the free OBD-II port coming from the adapter, after which the power can be connected back to the car. Download the XBB Configurator mobile application, connect the Dongle to the application and select from the application the channels that you want to control with the XBB PowerUnit relay (main beam and possible parking light). Connect the connector in the additional light to the wiring harness, and test the functionality of the connections. If you want to use the parking light, connect the blue wire in the wiring harness to the parking light power cable (yellow or white) coming from the auxiliary light power cable. Thoroughly clean the surfaces to which the stand is to be attached. Attach the bottom supports of the rack to both sides of the additional light and match the additional light to the installation location. After you have confirmed the final position of the additional light, remove the tape protections of the lower supports and install the additional light on the vehicle with the lower supports attached. Remove the additional light from the lower supports and fit the upper supports in the right place. Attach the upper supports to the vehicle with the supplied screws and make sure the light fits. Focus the additional light and secure the fixings.
