Auxiliary light set Tesla Model Y

NOTE! The manufacturer's instructions are that, especially in new cars equipped with a 16V Li-Ion battery, it is advisable to take power from somewhere other than directly from the battery, i.e. from a separate power point.

The Tesla Model Y auxiliary light set is a perfect fit for the Model Y, built around Purelux's Panther C540, Panther Aero C540 or Panther Aero C800 additional light panel. As the name suggests, it is a perfect fit for the Model Y! Each package contains one Purelux efficient additional light panel, the functionality of which in the Model Y (both technically and visually) has been tested by us at Valostore. In addition to the light, a suitable wiring harness is included for installation and model-specific brackets, which allow the panel to be installed neatly and easily in the recess below the vehicle's license plate. Thanks to the brackets shaped according to the Model Y's bumper, the lamp sinks into the recess at the level of the bumper, so the installation is smooth and looks as if the light had been in place when it left the factory. The Purelux Panther C540 is a highly efficient and modern additional light that blends perfectly into the sporty look of the Model Y. Purelux Panther Aero C540 and C800 is a very sleek and modern curved additional light that blends stylishly into the sporty look of the Model Y. The panel's light beam consists of a rectangular wide main beam, which is the perfect combination of both range and width. Thanks to the curved design, the panel spreads the light laterally over a very wide area, allowing roadsides, ditches and forest edges to be effectively illuminated right from the front. The light pattern that is softly bordered in height makes this light excellent for the front of the Model Y. Thanks to the ready-made additional light set, you don't have to spend time searching for a suitable light or hunting for the right installation accessories, but you get everything you need in one go.

NOTE! The set fits directly from Tesla Model Y model year 2019 onwards. The light and relays also fit models year 2017-2018, but the OBD adapter is different and must be purchased separately.

NOTE: In the new 2025 model year vehicle, the adapter is installed in the connector behind the panel on the right side of the driver's footwell. In the 2026 Juniper model, the adapter is located between the connectors on the A-pillar on the passenger side.

Purelux Panther C540

The Purelux Panther C540 is a curved additional light panel designed especially for the needs of passenger cars, which represents the perfect combination of a stylish appearance, tremendous power and a wide combination light beam. The light has two different power modes, thanks to which you can switch on either the more moderate power mode intended for road traffic or the PowerBoost® mode that releases full light power, which releases up to 16332 lumens of light power in front of the vehicle and increases the range to 607 meters (@ 1 lux). The power mode can be easily changed by pressing the button on the body, so there is no need to make laborious connections! Explosive performance and a wide composite light pattern combined with a curved shape and a wonderful design elevate the Panther C540 to the best in its size class.

Thanks to the curved design, the panel spreads light laterally over a very wide area, so that roadsides, ditches and forest edges can be illuminated effectively right from the bow. In the vertical direction, the light beam is softly defined, which is why it is optimal especially for bow installations. In addition to the precisely finished light beam, a feature that significantly improves the driving experience is the light's neutral color temperature of 5000 Kelvin. Neutral color temperature is optimal for road traffic, as it facilitates the observation of terrain shapes and obstacles, and does not distort the color of objects.

Purelux Panther Aero C540

The Purelux Panther Aero C540 is an aerodynamically shaped curved auxiliary light panel, the latest addition to the manufacturer's sickle-bodied Panther Aero product family. This auxiliary light combines both a modern look and an excellent size-to-power ratio, which together make it a stylish addition to the top range of single-row auxiliary lights. Externally, the panel is understatedly elegant with its dark optics, low-profile design, frameless lens and two-colour parking light (orange and white), but inside it hides a performance that is unrivalled for its size. Aero C540:offers two different power modes, meaning it can be switched to either a road-legal limited power mode or a full power mode.or the Purelux PowerBoost® mode, which unlocks the power and boosts the light output to 8249 lumens at a measured range of 444 metres @ 1 lux.

Purelux Panther Aero C800

The Purelux Panther Aero C800 is an aerodynamically shaped curved led bar, which is the latest addition to its manufacturer's slim body Panther Aero product family. This auxiliary light combines both a modern appearance and a great size-to-power ratio, which together elevate it to the best of single-row auxiliary lights. Externally, the bar is understatedly stylish thanks to its dark optics, low structure, frameless lens and two-color parking light (orange and white), but inside it hides a tremendous performance for its size. The Aero C800 has two different power modes, i.e. it can be switched on either the limited power mode approved for road traffic or the Purelux PowerBoost® mode that releases full power, where the light output reaches 12620 lumens with a measured range of 465 meters @ 1 lux.

Thanks to the curved design, the led bar spreads light laterally over a very wide area, so that roadsides, ditches and forest edges can be illuminated effectively right from the front of the car. Despite the height-limited beam, there is still enough light for driving on hilly terrain and for roof installations.

Installation guide

Locate the fuse box in the wiring harness and pull out the fuse underneath. Also remove the 4-pole relay attached to the relay base. If you want the parking light in the additional light to work, then the wiring harness must be modified a little: open the insulating sleeve of the relay base, push the blue wire in the relay base out of its place and move it to the place in the middle of the relay base. You don't have to do the part in bold text if you don't want the auxiliary light parking light to work. Locate the grounding point and power outlet on the car, and fit the power and ground wires of the wiring harness to these points. After that, disconnect the main power from the car and turn off Sentry Mode. Wait until you hear the relay "click" to indicate power off (this may take up to 15 min).

In the rear footwell of the car, remove the protective cover of the OBD port. Behind the cover, a bundle of wires is exposed, with a connector in between. Disconnect this connector and place the OBD adapter between the connectors. Insert the XBB Dongle into the free OBD-II port coming from the adapter, after which the currents can be connected back to the car. Download the XBB Configurator mobile application, connect the Dongle to the application and select from the application the channels that you want to control with the XBB PowerUnit relay (main beam and possible parking light). Connect the connector in the additional light to the wiring harness, and test the functionality of the connections. If you want to use the parking light, connect the blue wire in the wiring harness to the parking light power cable (yellow or white) coming from the auxiliary light power cable. Thoroughly clean the surfaces to which the stand is to be attached. Attach the bottom supports of the rack to both sides of the additional light and match the additional light to the installation location. After you have confirmed the final position of the additional light, remove the tape protections of the lower supports and install the additional light on the vehicle with the lower supports attached. Remove the additional light from the lower supports and fit the upper supports in the correct place. Attach the upper supports to the vehicle with the supplied screws and make sure the light fits. Focus the additional light and secure the fixings.
