The Nightsearcher Sigma PL Penlight is a high-quality, lightweight and compact ATEX-certified flashlight, ideal for technicians working in hazardous or EX-classified areas. Its small size makes it perfect for carrying in a shirt or chest pocket. Weighing just 41 grams, this extremely lightweight flashlight delivers an impressive 67 lumens of light output. For an EX-rated flashlight of this size, the performance is remarkably good, further enhanced by an optimal combination beam. The flashlight operates on two AAA batteries. With an IP67 rating, it is protected against dust and water, making it suitable for use even in wet conditions. It is also impact-resistant against drops of up to 1 metre and features a pressure relief valve.
The Sigma PL has a comprehensive range of protection classifications: M1 Ex ia I Ma, II 1G Ex ia IIC T5 Ga. This means it is suitable for hazardous environments involving gases as well as mining environments where methane may be present. Installation of batteries
- Start by unscrewing the Allen screw near the lamp head on the lamp body to remove the lamp head.
- Then remove the lamp head, but be careful not to touch the heatsink as it may be hot.
- Insert the batteries into the lamp according to the instructions on the inside of the battery housing.
- Screw the lamp head back and make sure that the screw holes and thread have no damage in the form of wear.
- Lock the lamp head in place by tightening the screw.
The unit has one power mode and the power switch is located at the bottom piece.
