LED lantern Black Diamond Apollo, 250 lm

The Black Diamond Apollo is a lantern with a very long burning time, powered by a rechargeable battery or three AA batteries, suitable for example for camping, in the cabin or even at home to create a pleasant atmosphere. Apollos has an integrated rechargeable 2600 mAh Li-Ion battery and has both in and out USB charging ports from which, for example, a mobile phone can be charged from. The special feature of the Black Diamond Apollo is the power supply structure: the LED lantern has an integrated battery, but the burning time can be further extended if there is no possibility of charging through "regular" batteries (3 x AA) which are placed inside the lantern as a power supply.

When the integrated battery is discharged, the lantern can switch to using the "regular" batteries at the push of a button. Apollo's burning time is about 6 hours with a full output of 250 lm and if three AA batteries are also added as a power source, the burning time increases to a full 24 hours. The luminous flux can be infinitely dimmed down to 10 lumens and with the lowest possible power, Apollo offers a burning time of 30 hours (integrated battery only) or 150 hours (with AA batteries in addition).

With the help of a fold-out hanging hook from the lid, the lantern can be hung from, for example, the roof of the tent. It is of course also possible to use it in an upright position and with the help of the legs that are turned out from the side of the lantern, a more even distribution of the light is provided. The user-friendly button lock prevents the light from being turned on accidentally, e.g. when transported in a backpack. This prevents the battery from discharging. For emergencies, Apollo also has a strobe light that can be used to alert searchers or rescuers, even at great distances. When used with the integrated battery, the lantern weighs 272g, and even with three AA batteries inserted, the weight remains fairly moderate (344g).

Quick guide

Charge:

• To charge the Apollo, connect one end of the USB cable to the power supply and the other end to the micro USB charging port on the side of the lantern.

Use:

• Press the power switch once to light the lantern. The light flow can be dimmed by holding the switch when the light is on and releasing the switch when the desired brightness has been reached.

Features:

• The key lock can be activated by pressing the power button all the way down for 3 seconds with the flashlight off. Similarly, to unlock the button lock, press and hold the button for 3 seconds. Which power supply to use can be selected by pressing the power switch on the battery compartment. Flash light is activated by triple-clicking the power switch with the light off.
