Headlamp Nitecore UT27 MB - 800 lm / Rechargeable

The Nitecore UT27 MB is an ultralight rechargeable headlamp designed especially for trail running. Thanks to the four-way clip, the light can also be attached to a cap, backpack or running vest, making it easy to carry wherever you go. The manufacturer-specified maximum output is 800 lumens with a beam distance of 168 metres, and the headlamp also offers three different colour temperatures for varying weather conditions and terrain. The warm 3000 K light is well suited to rain, fog and snow, while the neutral white 4500 K light works well in more technical terrain where distinguishing details is important. The cool white 6500 K light is ideal for more open trails and situations where long beam distance is a priority.

In addition to white light, the headlamp features a powerful red light with an output of up to 150 lumens and a beam distance of 70 metres. Red light preserves night vision better than white light and is exceptionally effective for spotting rocks, roots and other obstacles on the trail. The beam is over 100° wide, providing good visibility both directly ahead and to the sides of the trail. The lamp body can be tilted up to 90°, making it easy to direct the light exactly where needed. The red light has three brightness levels as well as separate SOS and Beacon flashing modes.

The USB-C rechargeable Nitecore UT27 MB is powered by the included 1500 mAh HLB1500 Li-ion battery and provides up to 14.5 hours of runtime on the lowest brightness setting. If the rechargeable battery runs out during a longer trip, the headlamp can also be powered by three standard AAA batteries. This is a highly useful feature, especially when charging is not available. The battery compartment also features glow-in-the-dark details that make changing the battery or batteries easier in the dark.

Despite weighing only 76 grams, the lamp body is designed to withstand impacts, wear and low temperatures. Thanks to its IP66 rating, the headlamp can also be used in heavy rain, while the polycarbonate construction is impact-resistant against drops from heights of up to one metre. The button lock prevents the light from switching on accidentally while being carried in a backpack. The included storage pouch also doubles as a convenient diffuser, allowing the headlamp to be used as a small lantern, for example inside a tent.

Quick guide

On/Off: Press and hold either the W or Y button for approximately 1 second to switch the light on. Press and hold either button again to switch it off.

White light (4500 / 6500 K): Use the W button for neutral white and cool white light. When the light is on, briefly press the W button to cycle through the different brightness levels.

Warm light (3000 K): Use the Y button for the 3000 K warm light. When the light is on, briefly press the Y button to cycle through the different brightness levels.

Red light: When the light is off, double-press either the W or Y button to activate the red light. Briefly press the button to cycle through the three brightness levels.

SOS/Slow Flashing: When the red light is on, double-press either the W or Y button to activate SOS mode. Briefly press the button to switch to Slow Flashing mode.

Button lock: Press and hold the W and Y buttons simultaneously for approximately 2 seconds to activate the button lock and prevent accidental activation during transport or storage. Repeat the same procedure to unlock.

Battery level indicator: The remaining battery level is shown by four indicator lights:
