Reversing light Purelux Phantom - 9 cm / 21W / Wide

The Purelux Phantom is a very slim and small, yet powerful reversing / work light, which is intended primarily for tight spaces and inconspicuous installations, e.g. at the bottom of the bumper. It is e-approved to be as a reversing light (R148). The Phantom produces a measured light output of almost 1,400 lumens, and the light beam, which opens evenly and very wide in the lateral direction to the surrounding environment, has a measured distance of 35 m (@ 1 lux). The cone is vertically flattened for low installation heights. The Phantom's light color tone is a neutral 5000 kelvin that reduces eye strain, which makes it easy to observe the environment in the dark. Measuring 90 x 40mm and 15mm thick, the light can be installed literally anywhere, and unlike most work lights, the Phantom is actually easy to hide in vehicle structures thanks to its flat and sleek design.

The light's small size and relatively excellent light output enable versatile use in various vehicles, from ATVs and passenger cars to work machines. The Phantom is easy to hide in the mask, skirts, under the bumpers and even on the roof, and the wide light pattern makes it an excellent choice for lighting the vehicle's surroundings and, for example, as a reversing light. Thanks to its water-, dust- and corrosion-resistant construction, the lamp can also be installed in places where it is exposed to road salt, UV radiation, water and other environmental stresses. In addition, the light's exceptionally good temperature resistance (-40°C to +60°C) guarantees operational reliability even in extreme conditions. The lamp is protected against radio interference according to the ECE R10 standard, and it can be installed in both 12V and 24V systems. Two-year (24 months) warranty!

Installation guide

The easiest way to connect the lights is to install them with a relay wiring harness in the same way as the auxiliary high beams (wiring harness can be purchased as a set). The power wire of the relay wiring harness is connected to the battery's positive terminal or some other place where there is a continuous power supply. The ground wire (black) is connected to the frame. After this, the power wire of the reversing light bulb is located in the car, from which the excitation current (the blue wire of the wiring harness) can be tapped either with a hijacking connector or properly, e.g. with a shrink connector. This way the additional reversing lights will turn on at the same time as the car's own reversing lights. Please note that the lights do not have a connector in place, which means that you will have to make the connection between the wiring harness and the light yourself. We recommend, for example, a shrink connector for this, which provides a waterproof connection.

In newer cars, the reversing light does not necessarily have power, but the lights are controlled via the CAN bus. If the rear lights are LED, this is very likely. In this case, it is advisable to make the connection using an XBB smart relay, which can capture the excitation signal directly via the OBD port. The smart relay can be replaced directly in the relay wiring harness in place of the normal relay.
