Intended for if you are installing a Canbus decoder and wish to use a contactless reader (instead of soldering).
Inductive reader for Canbus decoders which makes it possible to read the CANBUS data inductively from the cables, i.e. without direct "metal to metal contact". With this accessory, you therefore do no harm to the car's existing CAN Hi and Can Lo cables. The inductive reader is mounted around the car's Canbus cables and thus keeps the cables intact. Compatible with all CANNECT interfaces (CANM8). When the magnetic holder is locked, it stays firmly in place.
Note! This is only an accessory for "Canbus Decoder". So you have to buy a " Canbus decoder " for this to work.
Installation:
First, identify the car's CANBUS cables (Hi and Lo). Straighten the cables properly and insert them into the correct slots in the inductive reader and clamp together. The reader has a strong locking clip to maintain its position around the Canbus cables. The Canbus cables must be straightened a short distance for the HI-LO cables to be identified and then placed in the correct channel in the reader to allow the reader housing to close over the cables. Tip! Place a cable tie around the reader to ensure proper and play-free contact.
Connect the cables from the inductive CANBUS reader according to the diagram below:
