Product Faq
A PowerUnit relay to be installed in a normal relay wiring harness, which enables the connection of several lights to vehicles controlled by the CAN bus. Works together with the Dongle control unit.
Note! On this product page, you can buy only the additional PowerUnit relay, which does not work without the Dongle control unit. You can find the package containing the control unit and the relay here: Connection relay for additional lights XBB OBD Dongle & PowerUnit.
The XBB PowerUnit is a relay that can be installed in the relay wiring harness, which enables several lights to be connected to a CAN bus-controlled vehicle. The PowerUnit is intended for use with the XBB Dongle control unit, for example in the installation of additional lights when the excitation current cannot be taken directly from the bulb's power cord, but the main beam signal must be taken from the OBD-II port. The dongle is installed in the OBD-II port, from which it captures the signal of the high beams, and sends the information to the PowerUnit installed in the relay wiring harness, which in turn controls the light installed in the car according to that signal. Up to four PowerUnit relays can be connected to one Dongle control unit, and one PowerUnit has two outputs, so by using several relays it is easy to connect to the same vehicle, for example, an additional light, an additional light's parking light and, for example, a separate reversing light. The PowerUnit can be installed in place of the original relay of the normal relay harness.
Note! The XBB PowerUnit only works together with the Dongle control unit, so if you don't already have a control unit, you can find a set covering both parts here: Connection relay for additional lights XBB OBD Dongle & PowerUnit .
